First off if you have not read my bio yet that might give you enough of the back story to truly see the moral of this post… So pardon me as I wax nostalgic for a bit…

I remember during my Senior year I had one specific teacher that as it seemed I just could not catch a break with… It wasn’t until I had gone through her lectures on note taking that I did exactly as she had stated one of her college friends did and did it! I meticulously drew glyphs as a version of my own short hand to note what she had been talking about. At the end of every class we were to turn in our notes… Fast forward a few days later… I received the notes back with a note on them saying “See me after school.” I took one look at that and I instantly had a huge lump in my stomach thinking “Oh No! What did I do now?”

Later on that day after going to her she sat me down threw the notes I had prepared on my desk and asked “Mr. Baker. What is all of this?” Not trying to be sarcastic or otherwise standoffish I told her that those were the notes I had taken in a previous days lectures. After listening to her go on about how she couldn’t grade this she asked me if I knew what any of it actually meant. I proceeded to translate line by line almost exactly what she had said… Once I finished the first page I asked her if she wanted me to continue… She got this big grin on her face and said “No that will do.” From there on out that year I had truly felt that I had gained her respect.

The class seemingly became a bit easier for me and had provided some really off the wall projects at one time or another. My favorite was the assignment on The Canterbury Tales”. Our assignment on e day was to read through The Canterbury Tales excerpt she had pulled from it and to write a short essay on the various people we would take along on the journey. I do recall stating I would take a brewer for the purposes of beer making and Bill Gates of Microsoft for reasons I won’t divulge here…

Any way, the point of this whole trip down memory lan was to hopefully illustrate to you that when you set your mind to something and take massive action that you can do virtually anything! This applies to marketing, website design, or anything in your life.
